Founded on belief in the power of place

Planning and design evoked by the spirit of community

Listening and collaborating is our process

Architecture, engineering, and smart community building

Sustaining people, place, and planet through collaboration with clients and communities

Blue Star Integrative Studio (BSIS) was founded on the belief in the power of place that comes from a long-term relationship between people and the land. We are a Tulsa-based, Tribally-owned, Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise (ISBEE) company, partnering with Indigenous, public, and private clients, holding high standards for ourselves as well as the people and the projects we engage. Blue Star is part of the Bodwé Professional Services Group of Mno-Bmadsen, the investment enterprise and a wholly owned instrumentality of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi. We offer full-service architecture and engineering services nationwide, as well as a variety of contract support services for federal agencies.

I feel a deep connection with the culture and values of this group in supporting the Pokagon Band.

Creative problem solving to enrich space and place

We make notable impact on how people live and move in relationship with built and natural environments. The Buildings Services branch of the Bodwé Group partners with Indigenous, federal, and community clients to deliver full-service AE solutions and projects from planning and development through construction administration and occupancy.

Mitigating the built and natural environment

The Bodwé Infrastructure Services branch offers civil engineering, planning, and environmental consulting for municipal, federal, Indigenous, and transportation clients. We work as full-service, multi-disciplinary teams across the Bodwé family of companies and in partnership with our waterways and ecosystems.

Facilities, technology, and program management

For more than 10 years, Bodwé has provided contract support services to federal agencies as an extension of Seven Generations A+E design services. Today, our Federal Support Services branch is a significant and expanding focus for the Bodwé Group, with a field staff of dozens of experts serving diverse roles within federal agency teams.

Serving the complex needs of a range of clients

Blue Star Integrative Studio was founded as an ally and responsible steward of tribal resources geared towards strengthening sovereignty, empowerment, and cultural expression. Our team has a long-standing track record of planning, design, and construction projects in Indian Country, from government facilities and pow wow arbors to health clinics and supportive housing.

Blue Star brings varied and deep experience in single and multi-unit housing and neighborhood development, including traditional design-bid-build, design-build, and integrated project delivery methods. Our housing experience includes elder, disabled, recovery, supportive, workforce, and mixed-use housing projects.

Site Development

We understand and relish planning and development projects. Blue Star helps clients stretch, organize, and quantify their dreams and goals into clear and obtainable direction. Blue Star has expertise and resources to guide these efforts; from feasibility studies and existing building assessments to federal, Tribal, state, and local-level grant funding and historic documentation.

BSIS collaborates to find place-based solutions to better communities, including Native Nations, communities of color, and others who are marginalized, disabled, or disadvantaged. Blue Star brings deep experience in community master planning, cultural and community centers, and single and multi-unit neighborhoods.

Lighting a fire for current and future generations

Our mission is to benefit future generations of Pokagon citizens and with that long view in mind we choose the often-hard work of doing what’s meaningful and good. We choose it again and again to benefit wellness and missions and opportunities for people.
